...and here we are together!

He's so freakin' cute! Yes, people I'm just back from Projekt Rev and it was funfunfun (well, apart from HIM who were unfathomably dull) and we met the lovely Adam Lazzara and the legendary Ray Toro!!! OMG!!!!

Due to the excessive heat we decided to skip all of the 'supporting' bands and so we just headed for the main stage where we had lovely shady seats. Yay! It was still very hot and sticky but at least it was bearable.

Julien-K were, um, older than I thought they'd be. They are also so retro it hurts, as they appear to be stuck in the 80s. Lots of keyboards and a sound which borrows heavily from Depeche Mode, Duran Duran, ABC, the Human League, and um, every other British 80s band I can think of. Been there, done that.

Placebo were, of course, cool as fuck. Brian Molko is titchier than I thought he'd be. He was tiny! It doesn't help that his guitarist is a giant I suppose. I've just googled him and he's apparently 5'6" so that makes him just smaller than me. Aww. He kept his shades on the whole time which annoyed me though, and they didn't come over particularly well live. Just buy the CD, kids!

Brian being made to look like a dwarf by several tall, lanky bastards.

And then HIM came on and I fell asleep. The guy just stands there hiding behind the microphone lighting up cigarette after cigarette. It's so boring to watch. Wake me up when they finally decide to gtfo.

So Ville Valo exited the stage without so much as a wave to anybody. He just buggered off as fast as he could. But then the glorious Taking Back Sunday took the stage and I fell in love. I already loved the music and I knew that Adam was cute but they are so awesome live. And their set was so classy with its old-style theater look. Look, so pretty!

Adam was wearing some verrah nice bootcut pants. Mmmm. I likey. But I'm pretty sure he was melting in his long-sleeved shirt.

He's so damned cute! Did I mention he was cute? Hot dayum! And his between-song ramblings were adorable. That man has so much charm and charisma and was born to perform. *sigh*

No sooner had I recovered from the shameless Adam Lazzara fangirling than MCR appeared and Gerard was dressed as the self-styled Sheriff of Emotown!!! OMG that bandana was so cute! And he had a shiny badge too! Too funny!

Turns out that bandana was hiding a pretty impressive hickey on his neck *snorfle*. Cue wild speculation on the culprit on MCR forums everywhere over the next few days :)

The lighting was so damn good for this show and Gerard just looked amazing. Blurry, but amazing ;)

Regular viewers will notice that I usually don't fangirl about Gerard too much. I'm definitely more of a Frank sort of gal and Gerard, though pretty, doesn't float my boat. But tonight he took my breath away. His hair is just at that beautiful length where it's kinda long and hangs over his eyes but it's not so long that it obscures his face completely. I was just gaping at Gerard so much that I quite forgot to look at anyone else for much of the time. I know! I don't know what's wrong with me.

Frank and Matt rocking out. There wasn't too much opportunity for shameless Frank fangirling because he was so far away and hard to see :( But he was wearing that nice sleeveless shirt and played with the usual crazy intensity. He kept trying to get Gerard's attention but Gee obviously had his fill last night, if that hickey is anything to go by...

Dear Gee, plz stop trying to kill me with ur beauty, kthnx

I took pics of the big screen mostly because the zoom on my camera is feeble.

Can you see, directly under Bob, lying on the floor with just his knees sticking up is Frank! I believe this particular yoga move is known as The Bridge. It's especially good for toning thighs and butt which means that Frankie must be sporting one hell of a tight ass. Ahem.

More Frank and Matt (and fire!)(and Bob looking quite hilarious!)

Ray!

There was no outright Frerard to report but there was a cute moment when Frank was playing the tambourine by tapping it off the side of Gerard's ass! It was like he was trying to coax a reaction out of him, but when none was forthcoming Frank threw the tambourine away and walked away looking all dejected. Aww!

After a beautiful finale of Cancer where Gerard spent a long time lying on the floor looking absolutely stunning, we left to go stalk some rock stars. (We missed Linkin Park but I aint crying.) We hung out by the buses and who should come along but Ray and some bloke driving around in a golf cart! Ray was having such fun kicking up dust as he sped around the parking lot. Then he drove towards us and we grabbed our chance for a quick pic. How insanely happy do I look, haha!

I know it looks like I was sitting on his knee there, but I'm just leaning on the steering wheel. Ray's hair felt so bouncy next to my head :) I got to touch the fro with my head! I didn't dare reach out and touch it 'cos that would be kinda rude. He was so lovely and smiley and happy *sigh*

Then a couple of minutes later Adam Lazzara sauntered past so we pounced on him, haha! He signed my PR ticket for me and posed for pics. And yes, I will post the pic again!

He was adorable, and so tall! I'm obsessed with people's heights today. Just googled him and he's 6 ft tall. He was so so quiet and looked absolutely knackered. He looked to be in a daze as several people asked for pictures and autographs. This is why I'm amazed that he looks so remarkably un-zombie-like in the photo. He perked up just for the camera. So damn sweet of the boy.

This is completely random but when TBS were performing I kept thinking how much Adam looks like Russell Brand. It's not just me, is it? Take away the beard and fatten him up a bit and dear old Russell could be his bruvver, or summink.

Ok, I'm going to take my addled brain and weary body to bed now.

I like new friends and I love making new ones on lj. I have made some great new acquaintances, especially in the last year, and you all know who you are and how much you mean to me. Lately, however, I've noticed that a few 'ghost' friends have spontaneously appeared. People have just added me without so much as a wave or a hello. I just don't see the point of someone randomly adding me and not telling me about it. That's why it says COMMENT to be added :)

I'm not having a whinge, I'm just trying to get people to not waste their time. If you seem like a nice person I would love to have you as a friend. If you prefer to go through life being Ms Anonymous Lurker then I will not add you.
